Affordable coverage
The most protection for the least cost during your peak earning and responsibility years.
Dominate Insurance
See how Term Life, Indexed Universal Life and Final Expense policies work together to protect what matters most at every stage of your life.
Why more than one policy
Your needs change a lot over a lifetime: raising children, paying a mortgage, building retirement savings, planning your legacy.
Each type of life insurance has its own job and fits a different season. Combined on purpose, they make a safety net that adapts as life changes and keeps your loved ones covered the whole way.
Think of it like building a house: a solid foundation, strong walls and a protective roof. Each policy is one layer of your family's financial security.
Layer one
Term life gives a large death benefit for a fraction of the cost of permanent coverage. It's built for the years your family depends most on your income, so if something happens to you they can keep the house, keep their lifestyle and fund education goals.

10, 20 or 30 year terms that line up with the years your obligations are highest.
Mortgage payments, college tuition and income replacement.
Layer two
An Indexed Universal Life (IUL) policy is permanent life insurance with cash value that can grow based on a market index, with a floor that keeps that growth from going below zero because of market losses.
Unlike term, it is designed to stay in force for your whole life. Premiums can be flexible, and the cash value offers tax-advantaged access through policy loans when the policy is set up and kept in force properly. Loans reduce the death benefit and need to be managed.
We keep the details in one place: our IUL guide explains how it works, what it costs and what to watch for.

Layer three
Typically $10,000 to $25,000 of coverage that stays in force as long as premiums are paid, with guaranteed issue options available.
Funeral services, burial or cremation, outstanding medical bills and estate settlement costs.
Keeps your family from carrying a financial burden during an already hard time.
The real cost
Many families are surprised to learn that funeral and burial costs often run $7,000 to $12,000, and a full-service funeral can pass $15,000. Add medical bills, legal fees and estate costs, and the total can reach $20,000 or more.
Final expense insurance is there so those costs are covered quickly, and your family can grieve without money stress or hard decisions about how to pay for your arrangements.
An example story
Meet the Johnsons, an illustrative example (not real clients) of how combining policy types can follow a family through life.
A $500,000 IUL for permanent coverage and long-term cash value, plus a $1 million term policy for the years with young children and a mortgage.
The term policy ends as the kids are grown and the mortgage is paid off. The IUL is still in force, and its cash value can become one option for retirement.
The IUL's death benefit continues for legacy planning, and a $20,000 final expense policy is added to cover funeral and final costs.
The synergy
The real power shows up when you see how these three policies complement each other over a lifetime: each has a distinct job, and together they leave no gaps.

Your number
The right amount of coverage depends on your obligations, your goals and your family. A common rule of thumb is 10 to 12 times your annual income, but your number may be quite different.
Things to weigh: your mortgage balance, future education costs, 5 to 10 years of income replacement, other debts and loans, final expenses, and what you'd like to leave to heirs.
A well-built plan often pairs larger term coverage during peak earning years with a permanent IUL, topped off with final expense coverage later in life.
Rules of thumb only. Your needs analysis may land somewhere else.
Putting it together
Start with an IUL as your base coverage: lifetime protection and cash value for future flexibility. Choose a face amount for long-term legacy goals and final expenses, often $250,000 to $500,000 depending on age and health.
Add term coverage for your high-responsibility decades, usually 20 to 30 years to match the mortgage or college timeline. The amount should cover debt payoff, income replacement and education, often $500,000 to $2 million.
Complete the net with a $10,000 to $25,000 final expense policy as retirement approaches, so funeral and final costs never fall on your loved ones.
As term policies end and needs shrink, your permanent IUL and final expense coverage keep protecting your family, and the IUL's cash value adds flexibility along the way.
